Ayako Kawahara is a Japanese model/actress. Since her debut in 1988, she has been featured on numerous magazine covers, commercial advertisements and has appeared in a wide variety of television shows and films. Moving from Tokyo to Paris in 1991, she became one of the first Japanese top models to find international success, walking the runways for power fashion houses like Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent.
