Equipment stowed and ready to go
Now for the explanation as to why The Travel Channel filmed me in Sedona. Over the past 14 years I designed and developed electronic equipment that observes, measures, and records Geomagnetic energy. At the same time I observe, measure and record a volunteer's brainwave activity. Sedona is known for its Vortex energy. They have been described in mystical terms. I set out over a decade ago to either prove or disprove their existence.
I was pleasantly surprised to find out they were real. There are magnetic out and inflows of energy found in Sedona and swirling magnetic energy stimulates people's brains. Some people feel uplifted when in a Sedona Vortex and others feel sad. It all depends what you bring in your mind to Sedona. The Travel Channel filmed what I do to demonstrate when a magnetic impulse happens from a Vortex and a reaction in a subject's brainwave pattern can be detected. This chart is of The Travel Channel's Narrator's Brainwaves while I had him sit on a Sedona Vortex.
The Vortices are caused by a layer of quartz crystals that lie deep beneath Sedona's red rocks. They are red due to Iron Oxide. Fe2O3. "Rust". Magnetic energy generated by the layer of quartz basically flows up through the iron oxide and emits through the surface of the ground. (Outflowing energy). Several hundred feet away it reconnects with the earth and is called an (Inflowing energy). So The Travel Channel asked me demonstrate they exist and how they synchronize.

Brainwave Synchronization Demonstration
A few good captures of the narrator's brainwaves on Vortex energy.
The result is on the left side of this chart, looking like a heart-shape. On the right side I took him and the crew outside of Sedona to a neutral area. (No Vortex) activity. If you look at the two charts you can see the one on the right is less active. It represents normal activity, both Geomagnetically and Brainwave activity wise. But on the left you can see increased activity all the way around while in a Sedona Magnetic Vortex.
